Back from the Motherland.

The motherland. That for me – at this very moment in time would be Napa Valley. I was there in mid-October for one of the most important events of my life. The romance and memories will last forever. It will always be the place where I shared my heart and hand. And I am ready to return.

Where the Hell is Matt.

Lord knows I love to travel. Car, bus, boat, plane, or on foot – I would embark in a heartbeat. After watching this video on the website Where The Hell is Matt, I want to do the same… well maybe do the Scissor Step. Touch your heel, touch your toe.

Note: Breaking news! This video was actually a hoax created for marketing purposes… Matt was never in these locations. Sadly. But that marketing company did some damn good faking it! Kudos for technology, brainiacs, guys named Matt, and all the places I have yet to visit on this earth. =)

Thank you Daily Candy for this tip on the travel blog Design Tripper. I love it! Blend Travel + Design and you’ve got a new fan! This blog is one of my new favorites. This team of bloggers searched out exceptionally well-designed vacation homes, cabins, inns, motels, hotels, even tents to rent, from California to Tuscany. The pictures are gorgeous and the details make you feel like you’re already on vacation. This weeks post is a eye-opener with a hotel called 40 Winks that is designed by London-based interior designer David Carter that features only two rooms for rent but an experience of true surreal charm.

Hello Napa Valley!

I am off to Napa Valley with my best friend. 😉 I’m so excited to hop on a plane and see something new.  So, upon my departing from the brink of Fall in DC, I leave you with a few words from California wine maker Robert Mondavi (from his autobiography The Harvest of Joy)

“Wine to me is passion. It’s the family and friends. It’s warmth of heart and generosity of spirit. Wine is art. It’s culture. It’s the essence of civilization and the art of living.”

If my iPhone cooperates, I’ll share my adventures with you! Cheers!

Travel Therapy.

Because I’m addicted to wanting to go go go, now on my hot read list: Travel Therapy, Where Do You Need To Go? by Karen Shaler.

Published last month, Travel Therapy is a good read for those of us who need to keep moving. According to three-time Emmy-Award winning author Karen Schaler, the only way to change your attitude is by changing your environment — and Travel Therapy is the guide to help you get there. quotes it as ” geared toward helping readers refresh and find themselves, whether they’re dealing with a breakup or divorce, celebrating retirement, or looking to shake things up. Travel Therapy is a road map to self-discovery, happiness, and success — whether it’s zip-lining in Belize, helping orphaned children in Africa, or beachcombing the Caribbean.”
