ISO: Whatever Floats Your Boat.

Let me introduce you to Siren. She is a rather tall and slender girl with light coloring, striking features, and contemporary tastes. Siren is looking for great friends to soak up some sunshine around the world. She loves water sports, the cinema, her jacuzzi, sleep overs and staying ahead of the competition in communication and her flair for great design. Her Burgess family is rather large and spends summers on the Mediterranean with vacations in the Caribbean come winter time. Her tastes are exquisite and lure men and women of all ages…

Cottage to Cabin Winter White.

I love white interiors – although some spaces call for something a little deeper and darker. One place I tend to consider layered with warm woods, earthen plaids, and dark metals is a mountain cabin retreat. Thank you Jeanne and Paul for going against the grain and lightening things up… for all of us!! Catch a breath of Winter white in Montana from Country Living Magazine.

White washed and salvaged, some of the interior furnishings, like this desk, were picked up from areas like Yellowstone. Now that's lived in!

Nothing is more rustic then woold trading blankets but what draws me in is the white-wood framed gallery of charming art from antique and flea markets.

When Interiors and Exteriors Collide.

Although I practice interior design, I have designed a few outdoor spaces and each time, realize how my everyday creative skills apply to spaces situated under the stars as well. So when I see the results of interior designers and landscape architects working together, I get teary eyed {well, not really, but I do get a giddy grin}. As is the case of interior designer Henry Brown and landscape designer Lawrence Huntington’s beautiful outdoor dining and living spaces at Henry’s Portland, Oregon home. Raise your hand if the sophisticated black and white awning stripe fabric layered with classic and casual green gardens gets you giddy too?!

Suzanne’s Off-White Office Space.

It’s been almost one year since Atlanta Homes magazine featured the pretty, light, bright, and airy offices of Atlanta-based designer Suzanne Kasler. OMG! OMG! OMG! I’m totally on a creamy white kick right now and find that spaces like this boost all kids of levels {think morale, excitement, productivity, and yes, even success}. They also make great backdrops for all of the colorful projects we as designers have spread across our tables and even chairs {oy vey}. Someday, I will have my own off-site office space and a boomin’ business. But at this moment in time, this is exactly kind in mind. Just look at those woven bins for samples nestled neatly on the shelves! Every designer’s dream come true.

Timeless Cali-appeal.

Something about this California home is so inviting, so no-nonsense, and so timeless. Take away all of the trends, take away all of the glitz, remove abstract art and materials and this is what you have. A laid-back, serene, calm, California charm of a home.

Capitol Home & Garden Show Closes Today.

If you’re surfing the web today with nothing to do (I wish I had that kind of free time), then head over to the final day at the Capitol Home & Garden Show at the Dulles Expo Center. It ends at 6pm today! There is free parking at Long & Foster, 14501 George Carter Way in Chantilly. It is just one mile from Expo Center. Look for the signs that read “Park & Ride Shuttle, Long & Foster Building, Free Parking.”

Just a Thought.
