Simply Chic.

After my visit to Paris earlier this month, I am on a chic streak. Unfortunately, maternity wear does not exude a very simple and chic vibe. But if I was able to fit into size 2 tapered jeans (with cool ankle zips and encrusted pointy toe heels), I would embrace this very chic and simple look. I found French women wearing minimal jewelry and adornment, and embracing their inner beauty as their sense of style. Sometimes, less is more.

Gucci Goo.

I’m goo-goo ga-ga over Gucci’s resort collection. It’s always hard to see the ‘resort’ or ‘cruise’ collections when you just know that no resort or cruise is a part of your immediate future. So, for now I must dream and pretend I’m that girl in the glossy Gucci advertisements wearing those magnificently designed fashion accessories that we all drool over. I’m loving neutral accessories right now – they work with any ensemble and make  you feel like warmer weather is in the forecast (however, I can smell old man Winter). For now I’ll rock a bye-bye and warm up to these favorite Gucci beauties.

Stella Fills the Gap!

Design is not just for four walls and a garden. Of course not. We all know it’s infiltrated our lives and dictates how we live in an unsurmountable number of ways. One way design has impressed me is through clothing – for kids!! My niece has become the epitome of a fashion icon baby (thanks to her doting and fashionable Thea Nicole and Yaya Lisa). Its awesome. Just a young two year old toddler and she inspects her day and evening wear threads as if its her job. She makes the perfect model to boot. So when my sister sent me a link to Gap’s new baby clothing line from Stella McCartney, I was smitten. Are you kidding me? I love it all! As someone who loathes fairy tale and Disney characters imprinted across children’s clothing, this new adorable line of the perfect childhood summer pieces, nautical-bohemian-edgy-feminine-esque dresses, tops, ankle zip pants, jackets, and dresses, fills that open gap with better looking apparel for tots. What do you think? Stella… thank you thank you thank you!

Latin Lover.

Chanel’s new Spring/Summer line takes me to warm and stylish Spanish and Portuguese-speaking places. I’ve been on a Chanel fix lately. My signature scent has always been Chanel Allure perfume. But after watching Golden Globe nominee Shirley MacLaine in Coco Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld in the documentary Chanel Chanel, I’m a bit more attracted to the iconic brand. Just yesterday I received Coco Before Chanel which I’m saving for a fireside movie night this Friday. The simple elegance of Coco Chanel and the stylish looks that the famous fashion-house churns out even still today inspires me and makes me want that darn classic quilted chain bag even more! Be inspired with this collage from the Spring Summer photo shoot! Mi Corazon.

I Deserve a Reward.

So a busy day at the office has worn me out. I spent hours and hours sourcing a slew of indoor and outdoor home goods for a new client. Don’t think I even took a deep breath. My eyes are tired and my mind is moving faster then my mouth. I checked my emails and was deleting a mass email from Gucci when I saw this sight for sore eyes. I love it. I deserve it for a job well done. Hopefully the client likes the design I’ve put together for his penthouse in Washington DC. I should bring this metallic grey leather wonder tote to the next meeting. Camera? Check. Measuring tape? Check. Pen and note pad? Check. Beautiful new stylish Gucci handbag? Check. Promotion? To be continued…
