I love pattern. It can transport a room from blah to bam! It’s all over fabrics, flooring, wallpapers, linens, and even the way light casts shadows from a lamp. How about a simple photo? A photo, although flat in feel, can demonstrate a significant power when it comes to bringing pattern into a space. Just look at Google Earth and some of NASA’s enormous images taken from space – patterns are there for us everywhere. So, when I came across a post on photographer David Zimmerman, I caught a little Google Earth – up close and in person.
I love his aerial photographyshots of people doing what they do on Earth. Above a dining table, or sofa, or in a bathroom, these images pull you in. Closer, and closer, and closer. Gets your pattern fix at the great blog A Pattern A Day.
