Busy gal over here. =) I know it’s last minute, and we were just nominated today- but I would be thrilled to not be hanging towards the bottom of that lloonngg list of blogs. Big Book of Small and Way Cool Spaces.

On my Amazon wish list is Apartment Therapy’s recently released design book Big Book of Small, Cool Spaces. Living in Washington, DC, some of us have to learn to edit our belongings more or less and scale down on purchases to make sure everything fits and has it’s place in our home. This alone requires serious design therapy. Crack this cover and get ready to tackle your size-challenged rooms. (Plus, the cover screams red white and blue…USA).

Gray Backdrops.

I recently painted a friends dining room in Ashley Grey by Benjamin Moore, although more of a deep warm cement then a charcoal, it exudes a mood – which is what I wanted in this brightly lit dining room (picture to come). I came across this post in Apartment Therapy called Gorgeous Dark Gray Walls. The pictures are awesome

No matter what room you paint, the neutral and mysterious color looks great tempered with contrasts of blacks and whites – even textures of various shades of gray. I’ve found pinks, bright blues and tans look terrific against this color as a backdrop. All colors! Now go out and experiment. It IS the color this Fall. =)

DC Design CO.OP is Published!

Thank you Current Newspaper of Washington DC for asking me to be a part of your paper printed August 5th – in an article written by reporter Carole Buckley called Room and Board Brings Trends to DC. I share the article with Maxwell Gillingham-Ryan, co-founder of Apartment Therapy. It’s the first mention of my blog in print! For my blog audience online, here is a PDF of the issue – look for the article on page 13 (continues on page 17). Cheers!

Just a Thought.
