Thursday at the Home Goods Store of Serious Deals.

I cruised through the Home Goods store today, and jackpot! I found so many great finds, however, not anything I truly NEED at the moment {serious bummer as I think I need everything}. If you’re near a Home Goods store this weekend, find yourself some of these super finds that I really really wanted. I’ll be very envious.

I have always loved Oly Studio’s Pipa Cocktail table since the moment I saw it… but today I spotted what could just be this piece’s “look for less” in a black (can be changed to white if required). Seriously only $400 folks!

And then I came across some other well-priced and equally adorable finds. Like this gold garden stool that was just $30! Oh why oh why can’t my storage unit be just another 10 feet by 10 feet? {wink}. PS.. these pic were taken with my cell while zooming around this store… sorry about the blurries.

In keeping with my warm metal kick, I just loved these squat lamps with a hammered looking base and bronze tweed-like shades for $49. There were two… wish I had somewhere to put them. Argh!

Then I slipped by these two lacquer nesting trays in a color combo that would be perfect to organize the trinkets in my nieces adorable pink and green bedroom. Sorry Steph, would have bought these octagon babies if the left edges {unseen here} were not nicked. Bummer!

These ginger jars with quatrefoil cutouts looks great in so many stylish interiors – especially filled with a clean white candle for romantic ambiance.

Bamboo and rattan get permanent ink in my book of lifetime favorite materials, so when I stammered by an aisle of accent chairs, this pair of folding black director chairs with bamboo-like frames is an ideal pull up chair for next weeks Thanksgiving gathering. And then again at next Summers fire pit party!

Gucci Goo.

I’m goo-goo ga-ga over Gucci’s resort collection. It’s always hard to see the ‘resort’ or ‘cruise’ collections when you just know that no resort or cruise is a part of your immediate future. So, for now I must dream and pretend I’m that girl in the glossy Gucci advertisements wearing those magnificently designed fashion accessories that we all drool over. I’m loving neutral accessories right now – they work with any ensemble and make  you feel like warmer weather is in the forecast (however, I can smell old man Winter). For now I’ll rock a bye-bye and warm up to these favorite Gucci beauties.

Turning Trash into Treasure.

We all have attics full of stuff. And it’s time for a Spring cleaning. Now what. Ask designer Ryan McElhinney. Ryan has taken everyday objects and repurposed them into functioning accessories… my favorite being the  golden Toy Lamp. What child would not HEART to have this in his/her very own room?Ryan “up-cycles” old toys, bonds them together with adhesive, and then coats them with a hi-gloss polyurethane lacquer finish. A pot of gold metallic lacquer here and some professional design flair there adds some glammed up splash to the otherwise lowdown trash. =)

Hand Caste.

Originally from Montana, designer Ty Best and his business partner, onetime banker Brad Rowley, have created a company 1,300 miles away in Chicago. The showroom of Caste is a handmade collection of furniture, art and accessories inspired by the natural landscapes that are rampant in the state of Montana. There is a huge emphasis on bleached and cerused wood grains – tied in with the white-oak lounge chair, the wengé bar cabinet, and pieces incorporating a combination of these attractive finishes. Add steel, leather, tree resin, mohair, and polished accents to create furniture and accessories that take on a sculptural quality. I have to say that I really like the contrast of textures and earthy tones we find in nature’s woodlands and mountains. Local Chicagoan (is that what you’re called?) Oprah Winfrey needs to Caste these guys as one of her favorite designers. I’m just sayin.
