The Year of the Rabbit!

Happy Chinese New Year everybody!

year of the rabbit

According to the Chinese Zodiac, 2011 is the Year of the Golden Rabbit, which begins today and ends on January 22, 2012.  The fourth sign of the Chinese Zodiac, the rabbit is a lucky sign. Those born in the year of the rabbit tend to be private individuals and a bit introverted. They are also reasonably friendly individuals who enjoy the company of a group of good friends. As a profession, they make good teachers, counselors and communicators, but also need their own space. As for the rest of us, the rabbit brings a year in which you can catch your breath and calm your nerves. It is a time for negotiation. To reap the greatest benefits from this time, focus on home, family, security, diplomacy, and your relationships with women and children. Make it a goal to create a safe, peaceful lifestyle, so you will be able to calmly deal with any problem that may arise.

To bring a little luck into your home, add beautiful peonies to a favorite vase for love and wealth while a lime plant might attract prosperity and abundance. Golden Buddhas, symbols of happiness, wealth and innocent joy, as well as dragons, Fu dogs and money frogs can attract harmony, balance and luck. Lanterns symbolize the solidarity and wholeness of the family, and are said to bring good fortune, prosperity and love. Lucky charms like pineapples and gold ingots have specific ways of making this a better year.

Here’s to great fortune for all of us!
