Eden Roc. Oh La la.

I once stayed at the budget-friendly Eden Roc in Ocean City. I was in high school and went one summer with my best friend Keri. We managed to get upgraded to a suite (I think it was for around $66/night) overlooking the almost murky Atlantic ocean. That was big time for us. We were energetic teens who wanted suntans or sunburns (seriously), a boardwalk, and two days of boys. I’ve grown up since then. Although I still want my tan (forget the burn), I still love a bustling boardwalk (kitschy, neon, loud or not), and boy’s is now a grown up singular term. =) In fact, my man is accompanying me to the French Rivera this early Fall. We’re planning our accommodations and I just had to check pricing and availability at the famous Hotel Eden Roc in Cap d’Antibes. $$$ Check out the website – it’s to die for. For a little less DC summer swelter and a little more cool breeze upscale shelter, The Roc might be on my itinerary. Someday.

It was 1870, and the “Villa Soleil” welcomed writers in search of lost inspiration, a project that was quickly abandoned for it to become an excellent hotel on the French Riviera. This hotel soon became became the residence of choice for all Europe.

Even the most simple of rooms, The Traditional room, the colors are very Mediterranean and the rooms are polished. Love the duvet cover!

The Hôtel du Cap Eden-Roc has become a mystical refuge whose history blends in with that of the celebrities who come from the 4 corners of the world to find their part of paradise: luxury in all its simplicity.
