Ban de Soleil.

Ouch. I have a serious sunburn across my entire backside. My winter white skin met its first rays of sun this year on a day long boating adventure last weekend on the Potomac River. I forgot to slather up my backside and now I’m paying for it (i.e. disrupted sleep, painful dressing/undressing, and cringing in a warm shower). I thought I had learned my tanning lessons since those high school years bronzing during lunch and spending days laying out on the roof! Well, here is a good sun protection tip to live by – if you can’t ban the sun… just yet.

Know the UV index if you’re going to be out in the sun.

Anything from 6 to 11 means that you should be wearing an SPF of at least 30.
