Solar Decathlon.

This week and into the next, the National Mall gets a new development. A solar one! The Department of Energy is hosting the Solar Decathlon in which 20 teams of college and university students compete to design, build, and operate the most attractive, effective, and energy-efficient solar-powered house. The public is invited to observe the powerful combination of solar energy, energy efficiency, and the best in home design. The Phases exist of : the building of the houses through the hard work of college kids, contractors, and funds raised by the teams involved; moving the solar village and assembling it in the District; and then the actual competition where teams receive points for their performance. Need an awe-inspiring creative outlet? Head to the Mall this weekend. Goooo TEAM!
