iPhone into the Woods.

Great news for deisgners with iPhones in their totes and tool kits. Double Dog Studios recently released the new I.D. Wood application that identifies over 50 different types of wood on the screen of the Apple iPhone. The standalone application works with or without an Internet connection and turns the mobile device into a virtual guidebook aimed at architects, designers, woodworkers, cabinet makers, artists, antique dealers, and anyone else who needs to make deciduous decisions on the go. It includes references to botanical names, common uses, sustainability and descriptions. Just $2.99 for all the wood you can get at the App store.
