What a Zoo.

I went to the National Zoo today! Its been ages since I last visited and I got the chance to spend some time with sis and my niece Julia. We went early to beat the heat and the crowds. Most of the animals were out and about in their habitats waiting for their morning snack from the keepers. Except for this panda… I think he spent too much time in the trees last night. Can somebody get him an ice pack and aspirin?

Although I’m not a fan of “caged” animals, this is a really nice zoo and the Smithsonian is always updating and building larger, cleaner and more kinder habitats (the new Asia Trail is awesome) for their warm- and cold-blooded tenants. =) If you can’t visit the National Zoo this summer, you can watch some of the visitors favorite species on live web cams. I could watch the new baby Gorilla Kibibi and the fast-moving Clouded Leopards for hours!
