Sunshine of my Life.

My sister just sent me this post from (known for great paparazzi celebrity photos). An amatuer photographer named Thierry Legault snapped this photo of the Space Shuttle Atlantis circumnavigating our gigantic yellow sun. It was’nt easy – staff quotes,

“The shuttle (which is only 37m long and has a 24m wingspan) was traveling 17,500 mph at 350 miles above the Earth’s surface — and Lagault says he only had .8 seconds to get the shot. The sun looms in the background a mere 91 million miles away.”

If this could be blown up to a say 48″ x 60″ lacquered glossy print, it might look nice in a loft apartment with a pale grey mohair sleek sofa. What a sight – we truly are just creative micro-specs of living matter within this huge beautiful galaxy. I always did want to go to Space Camp (loved that movie).
